Jefferson Allen McMahan

Jefferson Allen McMahan (né le 30 août 1954) est un philosophe américain. Il est actuellement professeur de philosophie morale à l’Université d’Oxford (Sekyra and White’s Professor).

McMahan a publié de nombreux ouvrages sur des sujets intéressant l’altruisme efficace, tels que l’éthique de la population ;⁠a le risque existentiel de la guerre nucléaire ;⁠b l’éthique du bien-être animal⁠c (y compris l’éthique de la consommation d’animaux, d le statut moral des animaux, e et le bien-être des animaux sauvages) ; f et les exigences de la moralité⁠g Il a également publié une réponse à diverses critiques de l’altruisme efficace⁠h.
